Subject: 6" suspension for 2wd no body IP: Logged
Message: Hey I work at a custom truck shop and I was wondering how many people would be interested in a 6 inch suspension lift for a 2wd dakota. We may start production but I just wanted to know if it would be worth my time to do it. Or a long travel kit allowing 14 inches of wheel travel? let me know if you are interested.

Message: do the long travel kit please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how long would it take till the kit would be ready? the reason why i ask is becuase i'm curently deployed with the US Army and i don't know when i'll be back. and if it would be ready before i get back i'd get my wife to buy it and get it installed. a few more questions. would the long travel kit widen the front end if so how much wider, or would it be the stock with? also, would you be able to use coilover shocks? and could a engine cage be adapted into the front shock hoops if there are any? would the frame have to be modified if coilovers are going to used? and what about the rear suspension? are you going to use a bed cage for coilovers or longtravel shocks to be used? or would a 3 or 4 link rearend be a option with this kit? and what type of metal would you use for the long travel kit? would it be arc, mig or tig welded? what brand of shocks / coilovers were you planning to sale with it? if you can answer any or all of these questions it would greatly help.
josh

Message: What years are we looking at here. Id love to get a 6in susp but I am sure you speaking of the newer daks. I have a 1990. Theres simply nothing out there for us.
Just a question about some custom fab work. I have searched everywhere for 3in lift spindles for our trucks. No one makes them. why I dont know. Spinldes provide an excellent venue for more lift, good handling, and increased ground clearence. I have spoken with a Cal. shop but Im in fla and it was too far to deal with. But Id be happy to talk to you and your company about 1987-1990 2wd spindles. There ia a market out there for dak stuff. Just none of the majoe co.s know about it.
Later.
Joe E.
Do you have a web site?

Message: hey thanks for the information from all of you. the total width would be about 4inches wider per side in the front. The kit would require coil over shocks. We could do eigther rear end for you or maybe just long travel leafs. Tig or mig welded options. shocks sold seperatley(recomend kings).

Message: I would be interrested in the 6 in. lift for my 97 2wd v6. Would this require any modifications to the stock parts? If it's nothing major I could install the lift my self. How much would this go for? Is this just a front end lift or is the rear included?

Message: Dude please make it I am still in the deciding stage but I want a quad cab and the engine choice is still up in the air. I love the look of the 3 in body lift and 3inch susp lift but body lifts suck! So will it look similar in scale to an f150 w/ the long travel kit from fabtech(2wd)that I like, or rediculous like the old toyotas I've seen where the tires are completely outside the fenders? Yeah and a 4 link rear would sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Message: Is there any way your company could fab up a 3in lift spindle? Our 2wds would be in good shape if someone would. 3in susp. although from a questionable company, 3in spindle, and 3in body. Hey we might even be able to run 33x12.50s. Thanks

Message: Hey joe e, in the raised board he's saying for the gen 3's. but with 9 inches, i think we could run a little bigger than 33's!
But masterfab, do consider doing the spindle for us!

Message: I donno Fitz, Iam running 5in now with trimming and can get rubbing on my 31s!!! with another 3in, 33x12.50 is about right. maybe 35s with not much articulation. Tryst me, Id love 35s but with my engine, and all 33s is what I want.
I was told that all 2wd 1987-1996 daks have the same spindles, just different brakes and lugz. If someone could fab up 3in lift spindles, theyd sell like crazy once the word got out.
Later, Joe E.
