Subject: Truck dies in 4lo and crawling IP: Logged
Message: I put my truck in 4 low and 1st gear (auto) when going down really steep hills. When I get to the bottom and slow down to stop my truck dies and I loose all power (steering and brakes). Is my engine just confused when it is under decompresson for a long time and not on the gas? I have a 5.2L with a K&N FIPK and a flowmaster and the truck runs great the rest of the day.
Could this be related to my tranmission speedo sensor being bad. My abs/brake lights comes on and I have already replace the sensor in the rear axle and will do the one on the transimission tomarrow.

Message: I had the same prob, cept I was crawling up a VERY steep hill. truck died 3/4 way up. Lost power steering and brakes. I was VERY VERY lucky that I was able to dodge the trees while sliding back down the hill trying to get the gently get the e-brake on so I wouldn't slide sideways and roll the rest of the way. Couple of weeks later, my camshaft sensor went out at a gas station, and had to get it towed to the dealer. Don't know if these two probs were related or not. Best of luck. I have a 2000 cc w/ the 4.7 automatic
