Subject: Lift for a 2001 Dakota?
IP: Logged

Message:
I own a 2001 dodge dakota 4x4 extended cab and I have been looking for a suspension lift for a while now without any luck. I was wondering if you might know of a company that makes a suspension lift for my truck? Also, I was wondering whether or not body lifts are a bad idea? Body lifts are very cheap compared to suspension lifts and if no suspension lift is offered for my truck would that be something to look at? I have heard that they can throw everything out of whack. So I am a bit worried about putting one on my truck.

Jeremy,

Did you read the boards? There is info regarding all of this just on the first pages.

To answer your question. Rancho is the only lift that most of us are interested in and it is a 3" suspension lift. They just released it and I think Wildhawk 66 is the first one to install it, This weekend at that. We have all been waiting for a good Suspention lift but many have put on a Performance Accessory body lift "3. There are pros and cons all over the board.

You will find all kinds of intresting dicussion on the AIM formerly known as Truckin Suspension and Whiplash. Most of the discussion is not for the product but you will find some with them and they back them fully. Now it is weather you want a looks lift or a off road lift.

I was not trying to slam you but the new lift info is all over the board and the PA body lift is as well. This is a question that we have dealt with since the 2000's came out.

Recommendation is for a body lift the 3" PA will work best with 32's if you want to run 33's then you will have to trim. The Rancho lift is so new that we are not sure what tires / rims will work best to clear 33x12.5x15 or 16 with no rubbing.
that should sum up all the post regarding this issue and I am sure some will correct some of it.

I have the Rancho scheduled for install Wednesday so we will have feed back this week regarding it.
