Message: I know they are the same lug pattern and I have seen several GenII Dakotas on here with GenIII wheels but I don't know what the GenIIs backspacing is. If it helps, the GenIIIs backspacing is 5.5"

Message: Just checked out you pics. Thats one bad ride!!!!
The wheels I'm looking at on e-bay are just like your old stock wheels. But compared to mine their atleast 8 inches wide. I'll check the back spacing on mine before I persue this any further. By the way do you know where I can go to get a body lift. The suspension lift I've seen for the 94 are high as h*&^.

Message: Thanks! If they are the wheels that came stock on mine, they are 15x8 with 5.5" backspacing. Just curious, how much are the ones you are looking at because I still have my old ones and am thinking about selling them.
You should be able to find a body lift for pretty cheap. A lot of websites sell them. Just do a web search for "Dakota body lift". You should find several websites that sell them. I know that www.offroadwarehouse.com has 2" body lifts for your Dakota for about $80 and www.4wheelparts.com has them for $83 with free shipping. I'm not sure if they make a 3" body lift for you guys though. Anyway, hope this helps.

Message: They're on e-bay right now for $150.00 but whatever the price winds up it will cost me another hundred to ship because there comming ou of California($25.00 a wheel). I can get some American racing AR 762 (I think) for about $200.00 plus shipping but I like the look of your old wheels and gain an inch and a half on my width versus my old stock aluminum wheels.
Thanks for the lift info I will check it out.
If you think you might want to sell your old wheels let me know maybe we can work something out if the price is right....

Message: forexfour is there any backspacing differences. Do you know if the GENIII wheels will hit on anything up front ie.. brake lines or anything else. I'm planning on doing the same thing you did. I bought a set of AT's from a friend and I was going to mounthem on the GENIII and put my mud tires on my GENII wheels. I haven't had a set of AT's on my DAK since I burned the original tires off of it. But I'm kinda getting tired of buying mudd tires every two years.
Thanks for any info you can send me.

Message: I am not sure cause I never compared them side by side but I will check it out. I think they are pretty much the same. I will have to check after work. I have my smallest tires on them 31.5x10.5x15, I think.

Message: Tweaked,
My stock wheels on my 94 DAK SPORT 4x4 stnd. cab are 15x7 and I've been running 31-10.50 's on them for 10 years. I wouldnt recommend runing anything any bigger on the stock height and stock wheel. Also I have toqued the torsion bars all the way and have 2" blocks on the rear. While hunting in Colorada last year I busted the front spoiler doing some 4 wheeling. Didn't mean to ramble but for medium off roading the 31's and torsion and blocks work fine and no rubbing.

Message: I measures and they are different. The Gen II rims I have, have Mold 9 stamped in the rim and the Back spacing I measured was 5". The Gen III rims I have are not really marked but they have 5.5". I measured from the piont where the rim would meet the hub to the top of the rim not the bead.
So if I understand backspacing the Genn II rims will put the tires further from the frame than the Gen III by about a half an inch, Right?
If that is the case this should hopefully be enough to clear the 33x12.5x15 MT from the frame rub on my 00 4x4. This and the Rancho lift should get me what I am looking for.
Hope this helps you out as well, Rod.

Message: If you put GenIII wheels on a GenII they will rub on the calipar bolt. You will have to grind the bolt down a little.
