I've just about finished this baby. 3" body lift, 3" Rancho lift (99 kit modified) T bars cranked 2" and blocks in the back. KYB gas shocks (because the Rancho shocks sucked). American Racing Wheels and BFGoodridge Mud T/A's.

A place in Riverside Ca. called CMS installed/modified the kit. It was $2800 total including installation for the modified kit. Way too much I know, but I didn't want to wait many more months for the Rancho kits. I don't think folks will get their hands on them till March. I started this project back in December.

Let me get the drool off from my lower lip that's been there since you sent me the pics last month Ricky lol. So how's that Rancho lift been treating you? Did you or the shop that installed it recheck the bolts for tightness, my experience is that after you drive it for a few hundred miles things do loosen up while everything settles into it's new home. And now the flurry of questions:) Are your rims the new Bursts in 16x8? and what did you do to add another 2" block to the rear for a total of 5"?. Any rubbing issues at all, any trimming needed. Any sense of the truck being "tipsy"? What gears do you have, do u notice a big difference in acceleration, mileage, etc. going from 33's? One recommendation($$) would be to paint the grey plastic parts of front/rear bumpers to match ur truck, that would be the final touch IMO to and already sweet lookin truck.

I am one of the patient few waiting for my Rancho lift to be delivered and also trying to pickout my new 35's, think I am going with either BFG or Nitto on either Eagle or AR 16-17" wheels. I was actually eyeballing the Bursts but don't wanna copy u:) Can get a great deal on either 16x8 AR Ventura's or 17x8 Eagle 219's, so tire pricing is gonna prolly determine what I end up with.

The lift has been great. I tightened everything up. I had some rubbing and did a little trimming which didn't really help. Cranking the T bars and adding the 2" blocks in the back solved all the rubbing problems. The wheels are Pythons, 16x8.

The only problem I had was with the rancho shocks. They were the 5000's and blew out in 2 weeks. I think the idots at CMS but the wrong size on. They had the shocks streached out to the max. I've never had good luck with Rancho shocks. Years back I had them on my Toyota 4x4 and they didnt last very long.

Cool, so did you stack the 2" block on top of the Rancho lift block and get a longer u-bolt then? Thanks!

The Rancho lift on the front end leveled the truck so we didn't use the blocks in the back. When I had the T bars cranked is when I added the blocks. SO only 2" blocks in the back. I like the truck to look level! So really it's 8" in the front and around 5" in the back.

I am very impressed! Very nice steup you have there. One of the nicest looking Dakotas I've seen. I wish I would have bought the BFG Muds too. They look far more aggressive. Good luck with the truck and keep us posted on how the truck handles those big meats.

Nice! I should have gone with the 8" rims. Have you got your truck twisted up yet? I'm having second thoughts about going with that big of tire. My 32's rub now with the same amount of lift. Granted they are on 10" wheels. Nice lookin truck.

Those look Like westin nerf bars.
I had the same on mine. They sat a little low for me.
I'm in the process of cutting a deal with N-Fab.
They have some sweet nerf bars and they work
with body lifts. They don't stock them for
Dakotas yet but, i'm hopeing they'll use my
truck for a tester.. <a href="N-fab">http://www.n-fab.com/products/bars.asp

If N-Fab does make some for you Tx-Hop, I'd like a set. On my Dak at almost 9" taller than stock, the hoop set-up make it easier to get in/out and would look good cuz you really need height for the hoops to work appearance wise IMO.

Send pics if you get some on, what are the average prices in powdercoat black, anyone know? Their website doesn't say.

Well.. N-fab told me two weeks.. It's been three. So i called them and they said they are still behind and need another 3 weeks. I really like the look of those nerf bars.. They can't chrome them but, they come black powder coated and they have an option of color matching your paint for another $90. I think they will run around $280 for the set. I'm still waiting and will lwet y'all know as soon as i hear something..

Ricky,

What kinda brackets did they/you use to mount the bumbers back in the stock looking location after the body lift?

forexfour:

Am I correct in assuming the relocation brackets should work on the Hanson Enterprises bumper as well since I'm assuming it uses the stock mounts?

Speaking for Ricky:), he has the PA body lift which comes with bumper relocation brackets. As for his push bar, I think he had custom brackets fabbed by the same shop that installed the lift.

Ricky,

That's a wicked Dak ya got, love it man. How's the handling, on and off road? I'm gonna be picking up an '03 CC 4x4 and I'm thinking about the same setup you have (except maybe with helper leafs instead of blocks in the rear), so I was just wondering how it drives? If possible, could you drop me a line at downingd@constellation.navy.mil I don't always have access to the net, thanks.

I didn't know this thread was still alive. The rims are American Racing Pythons. As far as the lift, the 3" rancho with a 3" body lift works well. If you want to run 35's you'll have to crank the t-bars up and put blocks in the back. I have 2" blocks.
