Message: so i'm in the middle of putting in my new 180 degree thermostat... and i noticed on the old one that there's a small ball bearing on the factory thermostat. uhh... robert shaw doens't have this. should i worry or just proceed.

Message: The hole in the factory thermostat is to allow air to escape before the thermostat opens. You should drill a tiny hole in the new thermostat in about the same location as the old one,and depending on how the thermostat is mounted,you want to put the hole at the highest point possible to let air pass. this will make it easier to bleed the air from your cooling system!
