Message: Does anyone have a pictures of the Mopar or aftermarket skidplates for their 2001 Quad Cab 4x4 or similar vehicle? I don't currently have any and am contemplating getting some.

Message: Don't have any pics but I can tell you that you don't want the Mopar skid plates. My QC 4x4 came with the package and I am currently carrying around about 150 pounds of dirt in them. they are all plastic!!!! To keep the strength they are ribbed and don't have many drain holes. Granted they are doing a great job of protecting everything but they make working on the truck very difficult and they are impossible to clean well. Short of removing them or crawling under the truck with a rain coat and goggles, i have yet to find an "easy" way of cleaning them out. I would almost like the extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance back but I get into some pretty hairy stuff on a daily basis on some jobsites.

Message: Aggie what year is yours? The 2000's here are steel. As are the ones on my wifes 99 4x4 Durango.

Message: Try changing your oil without a funel next to the drain hole. It floods the skid plate with oil. Learned my lesson the 1st oil change.

Message: mine is a 2k with a build date of 6-00. didn't buy it till november 2k though. They are plastic, there is no doubt and I have no misdrops when changing the oil. It falls right through the hole like it should.
I guess I might have plates for a 2k1 but who knows. I do have the splash guard that has a note for the oil filter on the 4.7L so maybe I have one of those great vehicles with parts from next years model because they ran out. maybe that would explain the tranny problems I am having. Atleast they won't rust!!!
Do your plates run the entire length of the fuel tank?

Message: The skidplates provided by Mopar are in fact steel, however the skidplates installed at the factory are composite material. Unfortunately I found out that I have the composite stuff, and I already busted one of the plates. I'm unsure if the steel plates have drain holes though
