Subject: Upper Ball Joints 2000 IP: Logged
Message: Just want to know if anyone has had their upper ball joints go out on there Daks? I decided to finally put on my new rotors and pads, when the jack pulled my tire off the ground it dropped about a half inch. So I pulled the tire off thinking ot might be my bearings. But my ball joint was shot. So of course you have to get the parts from Dodge and the A-arms and Ball-joints are rivited. So I go down to a local parts store and ask them for ball joints for a 98 and they were the same in appearance. So I ground down the rivets and bolted them in. So far so good. Anyone have this experience? Any problems, or should I get the A-arms from Dodge.

Message: Travis, were they direct bolt in's or did you have to make some mods, aside from grinding out the rivets? My truck is already in need of this fix, too.

Message: Well I ground down the rivets and directly bolted the new ones in. They were for a 98, but the kit fit to a T. So I hope they will allign ok when I take it down. But I am sure they are the same as the 00 Daks. Dodge wanted 183+ tax for the A-arms with the rivited joints. it was 120 for two new bolt in ball joints.
