i have an 02 dodge dakota 3.9 manual standard cab 2wd and i want to get an equivalance of a 6" lift.
i am thimking of getting a 3"body lift and the 3" fabtech and in the rear add a leaf with shackles. any one with any other options???

Chris, thats pretty much the same setup all us 2wd people have. It's the only thing out right now for us to get up in the air. I've had mine for over a year and the only problem i had was a loose A-arm bolt, so it is a really good setup. You will be able to fit 33's with some minor trimming or 32's with no problem. Good luck

man i really want fabtech 3" sus lift! have the body lift but cant afford the fabtech. where can i get it cheap? better yet, who wants to sell me theirs cheaper?!

If all you want to do is get it up in the air for cheap and you only care about looks and tire clearnce, and you already have the body lift, just call your local offroading store and order the Fabtech 2" lift coils by themselves and buy the shocks separately. The fabtech coils are only like $130.00 and they provide enough clearance with the 3" body lift to run 32X11.50's with no problem.
If you want to go offroad and not break anything, you will HAVE to save your money for the 3" fabtech lift. I lifted my dak for and got new tires and wheels for it for under $1100.00.
Since then I've done all kinds of stuff to it.
just use your resorces and do all the work your self. Its fun..

i emailed dwish and he said that he had a buyer. i do alot of jumping. nothing too serious though. most air ive got was 2.5 feet and that was by accident. if i get the 2" coils, does that just even out the front and back? the basic package that fabtech sells comes with coils and shocks for the front and back, right? so the only thing i need to rent is a spring compresser? does anyone else have a similar setup and would recommend it for a low budget student such as myself.

Package my a$$, those guys make so much money off of thier 2 inch lift "kit". That "kit" consists of two (2) front coil springs and two (4) fabtech shocks. Do exactly as I said in my 1st post. Get the springs by themselves, then get what ever shocks you want, shoot, you dont even have to change the rear shocks if you dont want to. Its way cheaper in my opinon. It pretty much brings the front up level with the back, almost looks like it puts the front up MAYBE a half inch hihger on my truck.
If your going to be catching air, you should really do it right and go all out and get a fully costumized long travel suspension, wich equals mad $'s. Or, you could just take your dak out to play on a trailer cause you'll definatly be brining it back on one. I'm sure you saw the video and what Dwieshar did to his truck with the 3" fabtech on it, didnt you? Now, just think how much worse it would have been with just some 2" coils. yep.

thanks for your suggestions but im not planning on "F"ing it up any time soon. can i fit 32x11.5 tires in the front with 2" coils and 3" body lift?

You got it, I'm running the BFG 32X11.50 All terrains with just the 2" coils up front. Thats the biggest tire you can fit without more rubbing. Mine rubs a little bit on the frame at full lock. Nothing major though...
I dont take my truck thru the woops or catch air with it cause its the only mode of transportation I have. I mainly wanted the 32's for a little more ground clearance so I could get to where I need to go hauling my dirtbike.

first you guys need to check out this site... http://www.orcmotorsports.com/ .... they make a 13" long travel kit, 16" extreme long travel kit, and a 3 link rear end kit. if ya are interrested then call Tyler at ORC and tell them that josh smith told you about them, he should hook you up after that. i have pics of the long travel kit and the 3 link set up if ya are interested.

How come nobody is using the 1.5 in. spacer from Daystar with the Fabtech 3 in. kit for 4.5 ins. in the front and do a spring over in the back for approx. 5-5.5 ins. then put on the 3 in. body lift for a grand total of 7.5 up frontand 8.5 in back? I paid 100 bucks for the spacers and they just go in with the springs.

If your going to be jumping you need to truss up your rear axle at least. The front axle should be considered as well. It will take the brunt of the force. Fiberglass fenders are totally the way to as well. Get rid of your front bumper or see if someone can make you an ultra light aluminum tube style one. Lighter lets you go faster, jump higher, and the lighter it is the less you'll break. Be carefull to pay attention to your bumpstops as well. To tall and you wont get enough travel, to short and you'll be into your fenders.
