I have a set of 287/75R16 Buckshots on my 99 chevy, and after 40000 miles, they still have about half tread left. They are great tires and perform great off road (mud, sand, ice, etc). I am very pleased. I am fixin to upgrade to 35's on my truck, but I am keeping the 33's for spares and when I sell the truck.

I had these tires on my chevy tahoe. There was not a single mud hole i could find that could get me stuck, These tires are the best mud tires i could find for the price and they ride super quite for a mud tire. Get a set you won't be sorry

I've had them on my truck for about 3 months. So far, they seem to be wearing very well. Got a sweet deal on them (about $100 each for 33x12.5's). Have been through quite a bit of mud so far and have not had a problem. The tread has filled-up once or twice, but hitting the gas and letting them spin to clean-out quickly solves that problem!

I had a set of 35 buckshot maxxis mudders on a 92 chevy Z71 and they were ruff loud and sucked in the mud. For the guy who said he couldnt get stuck with them he must of been playing on pavement. I would bet money he wont make it through my driveway.

I had a set of Dunlop Mud Rovers on the rear of my truck and
the highway handling was very unacceptable.

Do the Buckshots handle well on the highway ?

The tires are exactly what they were designed to be, a mud & snow rated tire that has decent on and off road handling. I had a set on a chevrolet. I got about 40,000 mile out of them (good in lousiana heat!) The tires were very nice on the highway. Handled like an all terrain. Offroad, the tires faired well. However, I did get stuck on occassion. They were no where near as good in the mud as the swamper ssr i had before.

I have a 98 tahoe 2 dr. 4wd. I have had the maxxis on all my previous trucks. a lot of my friends have had them on there trucks. the ride is fair, not all that bad. I have had no problems off-road. like the guy said "give it a little gas and they will clean out", well they will. but dont think you can go through anything with them. there are some bad trails and holes from where im from, and i dont know of a tire that is good enough for these holes. playing around in fairly deep mud, yeah they are very good tires as long as u keep the tread clean. have fun man!

Kelly freeway tires kick ass
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 85 chevy with kelly freeway tires. i decided i would go mudding with some of my friends. They both had maxxis buckshot tires on there ford F 150(they suck ass). We got to the mud hole and they got stuck. I then decided i would try it with my freeway tires and i went right by them. i then told my friends they should trade in there tires for a pair of my kelly freeway tires(personally i think there problem was that they were driveing fords)

When I got my truck I was stuck with a few options due to monetary reasons as I am sure most of us are. Choices being: Cooper Discoverer ST's, Maxxis Buckshot Mudder's, and Kumho Venture MT's. I got the 31/10.50/15 Kumho's and I have yet to see why I would have considered spending more money on something else....with the obvious exceptions of any Pro Comp or Interco tires. But anyways I've heard decent things about Mud Kings' offroad abilities. I have heard they arent much for highway use though. -Mike PS- Still looking for a suspension lift for my 88 Dakota. Anyone help?

mud kings are a generic BFG owned tire that have worked well for me in the past... I currently have the sport kings (AT version of Mud kings) on my dak quad cab and they are doing great in the snow.

i have a set of buckshots on my 88 bronco II and all i can say is that they pretty much kick ass. when you creep up to a hole, you can feel the tires just dig through the mud, but if you have a heavy foot, they can dig you a hole in the mud real fast. the one and only complant is that the tread dosnt last to long, but that also has to do with alot of wheel spind on and off the road. if you are looking for a good mud tire for the price, or just a kick ass tire, you can't go wrong with buckshots. and don't listen to the guy with the 92 Z71, his truck just really must suck balls. hey, why don't you try a rear locker or just learn how to drive
