Message: I have had three sets of different Les Schwab tires. I have a set of Wild COuntry APT on our Jeep GC. They work great in everything except mud. Then I had a set of Wild COuntry TXR's, 285x75r16. They worked great in just about everything, I never go into deep mud. Now I am running Toyo Open COuntry A/Ts. They are pleseant on the highway and decent in the snow. As far as the Mud Terrains go, they arent too knobby, they dont have much void so I would bet they arent that great. The best part about there tires is the warranty and free rotations. The Traction RVT doesnt look too bad, give it a try.
2002 CC 4x4 4.7L 5spd 3.55 LSD Anyone have a white or chrome grille for sale?

Message: I had RVTs on my old truck that was stolen, i wouldnt recommend them, unless you are a street 4x4 meaning that you only drive on the street, in the snow and mud then sucked IMO. My roomate has TXRs for the summer and he seems to like them, ive never had to pull him out, (good thing damn super duty ford). Right now im running Hankook M/Ts(non shwab) i cant say enough about them great in the mud and snow, rain no problem, then do howl a little bit but mainly at 40-50 mph. I would say the TXRs, or i believe there is a either wild or open country XCs??? something like that i believe that is basically a mudder. would both be good choices.

Message: I have had the Wild Country Radial RVT, XRT, TRX, APT, the Wild Cat All Terrains, etc. All of the tires at Les Schwabs are ok, but they are not the best. I have switched to the Coopers. But, if you are going to go with Les Schwab, the Mud Terrains are way overpriced, go with the Wild Country Radial RVT Traction, or the Wildcat EXT's. They are pretty expensive, but they are just like the BF Goody Mud Terrains, but they are cheaper. IF you go with these, go with the Wildcat EXT's, they are the cheaper of the two, and they are just as good. However, if you want my opinion, I would go to a dealer that sells Hankook tires, and by the Hankook Dynamic MT's they are the best I have ever had, and they are CHEAP! I bought mine at Perfection Tire.

Message: By the way, I am shiftrider's roomate. The TXR's are ok, but they do clogg a little in the mud. If you aren't going to do any MAJOR mudding, they will work great, but they are pretty expensive.

Message: crusty is right, the best thing about the schwab is the warranty and the rotations, and they are all over the northwest so if you have a problem... they are close. that is the main reason i was thinking of going with them. i have had a pair of the Radial RVT's for a few years on my dak but they dont have enough traction for snow or the little off-roading that i do.
i will look into the hanooks. i have never heard of them before. thanks for the input guys.

Message: I have recently purchased Les Schwab's 32X11.5 mud terrain tires for my 2000 Dakota with a Rancho 3" lift. I have been impressed by them so far. They work great in the mud and on hard pack dirt. I am not so impressed with them in the snow, maybe its just that they are a bit wider than the stock tires. All in all.....I will buy these tires again. They give a smooth ride, not very noisy on the freeway, and great traction in the dirt along with an excellent warrenty.

Message: I am from Oregon, I would recomend going to 4wheelparts and getting tires. They are much cheaper then Les Schwab. Procomp MT's perhaps. Les Schwab is extremely over priced. Plus 4wheelparts has the same warranties etc...
