Message: CHECK THIS OUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. Unfortunately, at this
time, Rancho does not have a suspension lift available for your vehicle.
However, we are in the process of the research and development of this
lift. We have determined a release date of January 2003. More information
will be available in the coming month. For further comments or concerns,
feel free to contact Rancho Technical Service (734)384-7805.

Message: Looks good to me, I'll have to check if I have the Cali emissions or not(thinkin I don't so would have to do some modifying it appears), what's the easiest way to check? it's only like 1.5 months away till release date? Seems too good to be true, but maybe I am just jaded. I really hope they come through this time, maybe we can do a GB when it comes out! I know I'm in, hopefully it will be less than $2K though.

Message: Ok, let's speculate or for you experienced Dakota owners what exhaust mods will be needed? I've only had my Dakota 2mos so I am still a little green around the edges.I'm guessing the header maybe or.....I don't know.

Message: Based upon the prior Rancho Dak lifts, I am guessing the 3" will allow 32x11.50's on 10" wheels and a wider stance with more positive offset, all without rubbin during full articulation. Doesn't seem like much as far as tire size but you will be able to run wider/more offset rims for a wider stance and no cutting of fenders/bumpers, that's my guess. Now add the 3" body lift that many here have like me and I am thinking 35's will finally fit under my truck or possibly 33x13.50's with positive offset rims to boot! I would probably stick with 33's just so I don't have to do a gear change on top of lift cost.
As far as the exhaust mod, It is probably the y-pipe after headers like u said BCDAKOTA. I Had to cut-off and re-route y-pipe due to lowered crossmember for transfer case on my S10 Blazer too when I installed the Trailmaster 5" lift. After being underneath my Dak quite a few times tinkering, that's probably what will need to be altered.

Message: I'd run 35's with that lift cranked to about 4" and a body lift.
One problem for you 2000+ guys is that their are no gears available except the 3.92's from Dodge. 35's and 3.92's aren't real bad but 4.56's would be better.

Message: Looks real easy, if I could get my hands on the steering knuckles I could fab the other stuff easy.
Kent
When you drop the front axle 3" it will hit the exhaust y-pipe (only an inch of clearance)
one-piece crossmembers drop down the factory lower control arms. The front differential assembly is lowered the same amount to keep the Constant Velocity (CV) axles at their proper operating angle. New cast ductile iron steering knuckles connect the relocated lower control arms to the factory upper control arms. The upper arms remain in their factory location on top of the frame rails. The new knuckles address steering linkage geometry as well; the outer tie-rod attachment points are repositioned so factory linkage angle and arc of travel remains unaffected.

Message: Anyone know why it says 5.5" minimum backspacing??? That pretty much means stock wheels only. Dak bolt patterns are pretty hard to find in the first place, let alone wheels with at least 5.5" of backspace.

Message: If these lifts are anything like what Rancho has previously put out then it will be top notch and easy to install. Their directions are usually straight forward and very accurate. I talked with a bud of mine who has an off-road shop and it is in fact true! The lifts are ready now, just don't have enough supply to start shipping. He said they were aware of the demand and didn't want to fall behind right from the start. It appears the problem hasn't been the rack and pinion at all. They have been trying to make the lift so that there would be as little modification to our trucks as possible. They originally were going to build it around the 360 engine but after a year of R&D figured that was the wrong choice and had to start from scratch with the 4.7 since there were more of them on the road. As someon mention above the modification to non 4.7 vehicles will be to the y pipe due to the differential drop. My guy said to expect the lift to be around $12-$14.

Message: That is a reasonable price. Probably American though. What is the cost on the exhaust mod? 35's will fit with body and susp. lifts but how much difference am I going to notice between 33's and 35's with my 3.92's?
