has anyone ever replaced the lower ball joints? how difficult is it? I put new tires on and tried to get it aligned and they wouldn't do it. They also said I need a idler arm. any comments?

Us Gen II guys are blessed with crappy ball joints (sealed, so they can't be greased and they just plain wear themselves out really fast) - I've read a ton of posts on this board that say they don't last much more than 23K. If you fight, DC should replace them under warranty. Search CarParts.com and yo will get the MOOG part numbers - supposedly, that's what DC is installing now.
