Message: Hey guys, some of you know about my steering rack leaking. Well, i found a used rack from a 2001 dakota in an auto salvage in NC. Cost was $200 but that beats the $499 for a brand new replacement rack. I had them ship it to my home and got it last night. It's a beaut. Nearly in mint condition. I'm waiting for my 16" aluminum rims that i got for $100 from a junked 2002 dakota. I don't have much experience with replacements of racks but when you do disconnect it, would it require an alignment?

Message: Question for you man, where did you find that Rack, online or what? Wouldnt be able to answer your question, but I would make an educated guess that after removing the torsion or tie rods you will have to align it. Thats just my opinion though.
Run your fingers over my truck, and I'll run over your fingers with my truck!

Message: Hey man, go to www.google.com....type in auto salvage and do a search. You will come up with many different auto sites online that can send out part requests to all auto salvages around the country. I got tooo many replies from different states that i had to pick one ;)
