We can go either day if not both. Sheryls got tickets for a crab-feed 6:00 pm Sturday night.
(I hate crab, she loves it)
Besides that no plans besides wheeling.
Lets plan on 8:00 Saturday morning just like last Saturday, the Mud day that never happened.

Hollister has the Upper Ranch 4x4 area and the lower ranch Moto cross. At the entrance where you pay you go straight in. To get to the Upper ranch you pay at the main gate and then you have to go back up the main road about a half mile and open the gate, they give you the code when you pay.
It is big enough that you do not ride the same trails all the time. When it gets muddy though it is a whole different place. Dry it is a piece of cake. There is some area's that we do not even attampt due to the difficulty and severity of the Rocks, ruts or washouts.

I get my truck back tuesday, so I think I will be able to go, just need to find out when I work.
Back to the transfer case...dealership said that the chain in my case stretched and then broke, this caused it to whip around in the case and break just about everything else.

I think i will actually be able to make it on time this week-end too cause my girl is gone this weekend so i can get to sleep on time and get up there! You figure i should leave at what...6:00 am to get there on time? I really have no idea when i should leave, but i think i'm coming.

I'd LOVE to go, but I'm still in Korea...in fact I finally made up my mind and I'm going to stay here until summer of 2004. So the truck is going to stay in Pacific Grove for a bit longer than expected.
But I'm tentatively planning on taking some leave in March and want to get in as much fun off-road time as possible! Pismo & Hollister in March anyone?

Did you know we are also planning on a Pismo trip.
If you are in San Diego it is a good trip for you.

Drive time will be right at about 2 hrs and 30 min or so. Knowing you though you will probably do it in about 2 hrs straight through.

I called down to Hollister and the Hummer group that was to be there last weekend rescheduled for this weekend so we will see them out there.
Must have been to scared of all the mud!
Our group is set it looks like. DJ will be a last minute tag along since he is so BUSY, at work and stuff. Yeah right DJ! We need to get that winch roller scuffed up a bit.
You guys no the routine 15 minutes at the gate and we are gone to the trails and you will have to find us. I think we will start with the usual run so you can find us, then we will go exploring.
I will attempt White rock UP to see how much differnce the locker makes. I think I will leave the PIT to you guys and just stage myself at one end for pulling you guys out.

Cool Mason! It would be great to have another Dakota join us.
Craig just installed some tow hooks after he put on his lift. You may get some ideas from his install. We have some great towing hooks that will hook to your frame if indeed you needed to be pulled out at some point from the front.

Sounds good. I can also bring the Makita and sockets and do the install during a break. I already have a hitch mounted hook on the rear so im not worried about getting pulled out from behind. Im still at a stock set-up on my 01 QC so i dont think i will be getting to crazt as my fiance said. BTW will there be any other women there?

Sheryl is coming, and no she is not bringing any friends.
Thrash - say you on the freeway near Morrisey this morning. You will have to stop by after work one day and we can slap them on for you. Its easy when you can put the truck on a lift and stand up when installing them. I drilled holes but I think they will work better if I use the stock bumper braket holes. I can get you some hooks for 20% off of list price. These look like they are stock, really trick. I still want to see a truck with those stock tow hook cut outs to see if it will work. Say one without a body lift and I think they will fit. Not sure untill I do one on a 01+ Dak.
These hooks mount between the frame and use a 4.5" X 1/2" bolt and one samll one from the bottom to keep it from rotating. The hook is parallel to the ground so the strap will not fall off when there is slack in the line.

After speaking to my co-pilot, she decided that we were going to sleep in tomarrow am. I have a feeling we should be getting down to the ranger station about 8:30-9:00, she can sleep in the truck on the way down there :). What trails do you guys usually hit first?
Give me a few names and i can check out the map tomarrow if you bail before we get in.
Its been a while since i was there.

We usually hit the South trail to the top of Hector heights. By the time you get in we should be some were about White rock trial ( unmarked) but you should see us. A bunch of Dakota's is hard to miss. You can take the Blue trail Mccrary I think up to the top of hector heights. It is usually 2wd passable except in mud. We will look out for you.
