 Subject: Hanson bumper vent screens?

Does anyone with a Hanson bumper have screens in the vents? if so, how'd you do it? I got my bumper and installed it last weekend, and this week something came off the road and went through one of the vents and punched a hole in my radiator. I know it could have happened with the stock bumper/valance, but I'd just assume do someting about it since I'm haveing to dump 350 into a new radiator instead of into an MBRP exhaust like I wanted to. Just looking for ideas.

Hmm, wonder if that would be covered under comp on your ins policy like if a rock hit your w-shield, might be worth it to check into. Just don't say anything about your new bumper though.
How do you like the new bumper, got any pics? Dunno, maybe get some of that gutterguard at Home Depot that people use for their grilles and use that for screens.

I wouldn't involve insurance in it for anything. On a lighter note, I love the bumper. When I get everything completed (I think I'm going to pull the bumper next weekend and paint it black) I'll get some shots and post them, in addition to trying to work up a web page for the truck.

you could use some gutter gaurd from homedepot. like people use for homemade speedgrilles.

DJ had some steel screens from a local fab shop welded on his before he had his painted. It looks great.

You're right.
Before the bumper was powdercoated, I welded a piece expanded metal in each of the vent holes.
If you install a winch after the bumper is mounted, you'll find out one reason why those vent holes were left open. To get the bolts up under the winch and turn a wrench, you really need those vent holes for access. I learned this the hard way.
My other concern is the bottom of the radiator. Because the bumper has a lower profile, there's less protection from debris getting kicked up. So, a couple weeks ago I fabbed a front skidplate. Just need to get it powdercoated then I'll post some pics on my website (which is in dire need of an update anyway).

do you have any updated pics since you got your x-terrains and the fabtech bar installed? I'm debateing on getting a body lift and the fabtech prerunner bar.

No not yet. I am in the process of moving, so everything is packed or getting packed. I am gonna see about borrowing a friends camera to get up some new pics.
