I've noticed that no one i.e. Warn makes a manual locking hub for the Dakota. Is there something about the Dakotas front wheel drive design that precludes the use of Hubs?

Yes, Daks use a center disconnect setup instead of the traditional style. Most newer 4x4's do.
I know how the setup works just don't know how to accurately explain it.
