Subject: Wanted! Roll/Light Bar IP: Logged
Message: Anyone out there have an old Gen I or maybe II with the roll/Light bar that Dodge had that bolted to the bed rails? I've only seen pictures of one and I can really use one for my Dak!
Thanks-

Message: Your best bet is probably to have a custom one built at a metal shop...you'd be surprised, they aren't very expensive to get made custom, and instead of painting it you could always rhinoline it and save money!
It's just finding a roll bar for a first gen truck isn't easy cause they didn't make much for those trucks to begin with. Just go to your local metal shop and tell them what you want.

Yeah, you might be right! That's a good idea that I hadn't thought about. Seems those things are pretty hard to find.
Thanks!

Message: I have a bar and lights for my '94 Dakota that I can get you. It is in great shape except the four bolts that hold it down were hack sawed off by the guy I purchased it from. I was told all you have to do is weld some in (not hard if you know what you are doing). I was going to put it on mine b/c I think it really adds to the look of the truck, but I need the bedliner and did not want to attach it to the plastic covers of the roll bar. Let me know if you are interested. By the way I asked my dealer to do a search and there are NO bars to be had out there. You can buy mounting parts etc. but none of the main pieces.

Message: I have a roll bar by Smittybuilt on my 1990 Dak. Not for sale yet. But I also have a tonneau cover that I cut to fit around the roll bar legs. It looks ok but I am tired of cleaning it. I want to do this idea I have. Take a 3 ft by what ever the width of my truck bed is, and cut holes in it to fit around my roll bar. With some gaskets to stop rain from entering the bed. Then either have a henge or sealed overlap to make the remaining 3ft of the bed. How much would something like this cost. Can I even get a piece of diamond plate aluminum that big? Thanks.
