Message: Chris - I'm in Richmond, Va. Not too many places around here to go wheelin'. Years ago I used to go behind Hanover airport on the fire roads. Lots of mud. Plus it was cool to watch the planes take off and land just a 100 feet or so above your head!! I heard some boys on a Jeep board mention a place off of Three Chopt road. The directions were south on Gaskins Rd from Broad St. Then take a right onto Three Chopt. Then take the 2nd right onto a dirt road. I've never been but they say lots of mud.
Also I know of some really awesome trails about 100 miles west of Richmond at Crabtree Falls. I used to take my 2000 Durango but my frame really took a beating. I have since bought a Jeep. Your '99 might do well up there if you have a solid axle up front. I go up there at least once a month. Sometimes twice a month. Lots of trails and they can be pretty rugged. My Durango had to go around a lot of the tough stuff but my Jeep can do it all.

Message: Dodd,
Excellent post. I appreciate the information. I may be hitting it on Sunday after the Dakota meet in Hampton on Saturday. If not this weekend, then perhaps next week sometime. Reker know you are interested, but Dodd if you are interested, let me know.
I don't have the solid axel up front. I really wish Dodge would have put one in the Dakota like they did the full size. I like the rough terrain, but if it looks like I might do some damage, I skirt it.
You guys into Mountain Biking at all?

As for the offroading. I would love to go with u guys, but this weekend and next weekend i will be out of town. Maybe some time in October ill be able to go.
I have heard about a couple places around my area where u can go offroading.. but havent been able to talk to the people long enough to actually find out where.
