Lifted Durangos

About clearing 35's. If your Durango is a 2000 or newer you can get a lift from truckin-suspension or Whiplash but both are Junk.
Wait for Rancho to come out with their 3" lift and put a body lift to clear 35's

If its 97-99, get a 3" rancho or 5.5 Tuff Country

IF any durango owners want to know an easy way to clear 35" tires just put a 3" body lift on. Don't laugh if you use the factory wheels it will work for everyday driveing. The only place it rubs is on the inner frame rail at full lock, and thats not even bad. If you plan on off roading it like I do little fender cutting is required if you would like to see pictures to believe it email me at mudtoy98@aol.com

I have a 98 durango with a 3" body lift 35" MT Baha Claw tires, 4.88 gears front and rear with a detroit true tack locker in the rear.

4.88 gears? Holy hell that is a pretty good sized gear. And I thought going to a 4.56 was a big step.

35" tires with only a 3" body lift? Sorry, but I would have to see it to believe it.

And the 4.88 gears, Ive never seen that low of gears for Dakotas/Durangos. From my understanding and research the lowest that I have been able to find is 4.56. Where did you get your gears from?

GLOBALMOTO: Thats interesting, I didnt think that Durangos would be able to fit tires like that with just 3" of lift on a 2wd.

I thought that for the most part the suspensions on Durangos were close to the same as Dakotas.

dirty durango..
I emailed you a couple of days ago about those pics on that durango of yours with the 35's on it.

I havent heard back from you yet just wondering if you got it and if so could you shoot me back those pics. I think that would be a pretty good trick to stuff 35's on a durango with a 3" body lift... I would do it in a heartbeat. Do you have a web site where you have them posted or could post them??? Anyhow just wondering if you were still out there...
Thanks

More Help On Lift Kits
IP: Logged

Message:
This topic has probably been beat to death but I am tired of waiting. Have a 2000 Durango, does anyone know when Rancho will have their 3" lift kit out for the R&P Durangos/Dakotas? I keep getting conflicting info on this.
Can anyone recommend another QUALITY suplier as an alternative??

Thanks for any and all help.

Rancho Durango lift. Soon!
IP: Logged

Message:
Here is the scoop from a Rancho Engineer.
It will be out in Febuary for the 2001 Durango.
It's a 3" lift. He says it's more like 3 3/4" lift. 31" tires will fit with no working problems. To fit 35" it will need a little body work and that is it. (scratch my head)

I need something to stop the rear end from hopping off the ground. Any budy battling that problem?

hi,
i have a 99 4x4 durango with 5.9l and 3.9 gears at front and back. i installed performance suspensions and i can only fit 33"s and it rubs, so i do not see how 35"s will fit. i am planning to get a suspension lift from tuff country 5.5" or rancho. still debating which one i will go with. i will be getting 35"s with that and will be switching gears to the 4.5s.
for person who owns the 2x4 who's looking for a lift .... fabtech makes it for your application.

I have a '98 Durango 4x4 and just bought a 3 inch body lift to slap on it. I also just bought some 8x15 inch American Eagle 118 wheels and was really hoping to put on 33x12.5x15 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires. Can anyone tell me if these tires will work ok for the street and what kind of body work is necessary to keep the tires from rubbing or do you just have to live with a little rubbing.

This past weekend I put a 3" body lift in my 2002 Durango and I put 305/70R/16 on it. I had to suck up the torsion bars so the fronts would not rub. It looks great, will have some pics soon.
