Message: I have Nitto Terra Grappler 265/75R16's right now but was looking for a little wider tire. The nittos rub a little bit because they are too tall. BFGOODRICH makes a 275/70R16 tire which is a little wider and a little shorter. Since no lift company will support 2002 dakotas I was going to try the BFG's and see if they cure the rubbing. Anyone have a set of these BFG's? Do they rub? If so where and how bad. I have a 2002 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4. Looking for input.

Message: Man , you go through some tires! How long have you had those Terras?
I just put the 33x13s on 18x8.5 wheels on mine and really like them , so far.
Not sure about the BFGs solving your rubbing problem , I do know they are a great tire though.

Message: Correct my math if wrong. 265/75xr16=31.64 inches
275/70R16=31.16 inches or .48 inches difference. Does/is the .48 inches extra height really enough to cause the rubbing or do you need shorter tires yet?

Message: They barely rub as it is due to some fender trimming but I am not going to trim anymore. They only rub at full turn going in reverse. I am hoping the extra half inch clearance will make a difference but I am curious about the added width of the tire. Anyone have these on a stock 2002 4x4?

Message: Remember, you won`t get a full 1/2 in of clearance , you will only get 1/4 in the whole way around the tire.
Will your local tire place mount one up for you to see before you buy?

Message: From BFG websight :
265/75R16 H = 31.8 W = 10.5
275/70R16 H = 31.3 W = 11.0
I have a 2000 CC 4X4. I cranked the torsion bars 3/4" in the front. I cranked to level, not for clearance. I went to 16" rims and am running the BFG 275/70R16 All-Terrain KO's. There is no rubbing at all, even at full steering lock. These new tires look sweet. They give the truck a nice meaty stance and fill the wheel wells just right. They are quieter than the crappy stock goodyears. Blizzard was running the same set up on a quad. I highly recommend this set up for anybody wanting largest 16" tire and doesn't want to lift.
