Message: Check your 4wd linkage. Same thing had happened to me. It kept popping out of 4wd.

Message: If you have the 4X4 with a shifter that you move to put the truck into 4WD, then you have to check the cable under the truck that is attatched to the transfer case(the unit that splits the power to front and rear wheels).It should be pretty easy to see if that`s the problem , once you get under the truck.
If you have the electronic transfercase it has a switch to control the 4hi , 4lo etc. then you probably have a different problem. Computer related perhaps?

Message: my 95 dak wont stay in 4 low but shift into 4 hi fine every time i engege 4 low it stay till i put it in gear then the stick jumps out and whne i wanna go back from 4 low to 2wd it grinds a bit and is a fight to get the t-cast past neutral please help

Message: i rebuilt my t-case a month ago('92). i had to re-adjust the
linkage to keep it in 4low. the low gear teeth start to wear
after ten years.
