Message: Not around the city that I know of, but then I haven't really looked specifically for it.
Around Edmonton you mostly have settled farming areas and explosively expanding suburbs. Going farther out towards Nordegg or Slave Lake where the farms start ending & logging starts is where serious off-roading really starts up. Not by design, just the fact that there's really not much up there except logging roads, cutlines, and lease roads.
Edmonton has always been a bit of an urban island in the wilderness. You came in from the farms, logging camps, oil rigs to do government business, go to school, do technical work, & get a little bit of social activity. If you wanted bush country, hunting, etc you'd just go back out of the city for a couple of hours.

a cool place to wheel, try south of cadomin. awesome
scenery, wheelin, fishing, hunting. since you are not in
the national park the rules aren't as strict. if you don't
know where cadomin is, e-mail me,and i'll give you a
