Message: I've gotten 19 on the highway with 33s, 5.2 auto and 3.55 gears. Now, around town and towing is a completely different story and part of the reason I'm putting in 4.10s.

Message: If you have 33's and havn't had the speedo recalibrated then your mpg figures are off. They will show higher mpg than the actual number.

Message: I am getting average of 14-17mpg(speedo corrected) depending how i am driving:) As an FYI, see below:
Using a handheld GPS, my speedo read slower than actual speeds: -3 mph @ 35, -5mph @ 45 and -7mph @ 65-70. Below 35mph was 1-2 mph off.
As you can see, If u do allota highway traveling, you will noticeably reduce the the miles on your truck from actual distance traveled.
I fixed my problem with the Superlift Electronic Recalibrator, not too hard to install and worth the $200 beans IMO to not put any extra hardship on the already shifting confused 45rfe. This is the only way to correct this that I know of, the dealer cannot flash your computer with tire size above the largest offered stock(31's). Cool thing is if you put stock tires back during winter, you can calibrate it for two different tires sizes and just flip a switch to choose which size. I run a different set of 33's on stock wheels so I don't use this feature, but it makes this mod more convenient!

2THEXTRM,
I do the same changing back and forth in tire sizes and I am about to add 32's to the collection. Cool 31's Stock and Yokohama MTR,32's AT's,33's MTR. So I am gonna look into that recalibrator you got. Any particulars on the type need for the Dakota's or are they standard?

Message: I believe they are standard for each make of vehicle and various years depending on tranny(Ie: chrysler electronically controlled trannies). If you call superlift or any authorized dealer, they will need the Make and year, maybe the engine/tranny info too(can't remember, it's been almost a year since I bought it:). You have to cut/splice the two wires running from the ABS system plug on transfer case and then run power/ground to unit. Pretty easy once you have located wires to splice and mounted unit inside of your Dak in a safe spot(mine currently resides underneath driver side of dash away from the dealers prying eyes:)

Message: I took into account the speedo/odo difference in my calculation. With my tires, the difference from stock is 8%. I calculated that from the revs/mile data on my BFGs and the stock tires.
