Subject: Locker or Limited Slip IP: Logged
Message: I currently have a FT 4X4 Open Diffential and am considering upgrading my differential to either the standard Limited Slip or the Powertrax No Slip Locker. The cost is about the same as I would pay someone to do the Limited Slip yet will install the Locker myself. I am primarily concerned with any on road experiences with the Powertrax No Slip as I already know it will provide superior traction off road. Does it lock in turns, do the tires chirp, any understeer experienced, etc??? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Message: I would stick with a limited slip. It will get you through most situations and have better handling on the road. No doubt that a locker is superior off road but will wear your tires a lot quicker on road. I'd leave a locker for a truck that is going to see really hard core wheelin or mainly on off raod truck without a lot of street time. I have always had a limited slip and it's always worked great for me. Just my $.02.. :-)

Message: Craig...
Page down to the locker posting by myself, in short it says the locker is worth every dollar (380 to be exact), and i don't have any trouble in rain, mud, steep hills..
I vote locker!!!

Message: Thanks for the posts so far. It doesn't seem like many have these Powertrax units yet. I wish I could drive one first but looks like I will just go ahead and buy one and see how it works. Thanks again :)
