Can anyone steer me to some web sights or pics or just let me in on some tips on installing a solid front axel on a 95 dak with 5.9?
Have the axel and the plan, just want to make sure before the torch and welder get hot!!!

Hey, I'm working on the same project!
I have a '95 std cab shortbed with a 5.2. I'm putting in a 5.9 from a '95 Ram2500 and swapping in a real front axle. What was your donor truck?
Any trouble getting the 5.9 in there?

Hey, kc how wide is the axle itself and how wide are the perches on the axle (center of one perch to the center of the other). I found a front and rear axle combo that is perfect for my truck for a good price, Dana 44 3/4 ton up front and a Dana 60 in the rear. All i need to know is distances of the centers of the perches on the front axle. If you could find that out i would greatly appreciate it.

The rear axel is a 14 bolt out of a 1 ton dually wrecker, I do belive its width to be 62" as for the front I am working with Boyce on a dana 60. I'll keep ya posted, this Truck won't be a daily driver, Its gonna be made for the mud with limited street use!!!!

The suspension lift cost me 3500 thats including the axle, the king coil over shocks, the steel to make the ladder bars, steel to make stabilizer bars, and steering components... the gear box is from a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo. .. couldnt make the dakota gear box work.., to bend the shock hoops cost me $7 and the steel cost me 20 bucks..
the pictures I have are the ones in the website... sorry..
if you notice on the website the coil over shocks go thru the frame.. remember this was a 2wd frame .. so we took out stock coils and ran the coil over shock thru the hole where the stock coils where.. it was pretty neat.. and works very well.

Steve .. the coil over shocks I got them from 4 wheel parts and wholesalers. .. they where $700 a piece...

I just picked up a rear axle. It's a dana60 with 4.56 gears and a detroit locker. Now to just find a dana60 for up front and we can make a beast.

Question..... will axles from a 79' CJ Jeep work for the straight axle conversion under my 2001 dakota? a guy up the street has this CJ that i can get really cheap, i just need to know if the axles are long enough before i buy it. thanks!
