Message: Arthur,
I think I am your neighbor (about 1/4 mile apart as the crow flies). Or there is another graphite 4x4 SXT in town. This one parks on Spanish Oaks, I live on Wavertree (just north of Ironbark)

Oh, and about that always seeing me truck clean...i'm anal about washing it after four wheeling, don't want anything getting corroded on me...but you should have seen it the first month, after we had some good rain...that thing was so muddy you couldn't tell what color is was.
Hey, if your looking to get in on a four wheeling group, you might want to think about getting in with mine, we tend to go up Big Falls, the Pismo Dunes, and especially Pozo. We consist of:
2001 Hummer H1 - Silver
1999 Hummer H1 - White
1999 Jeep Wrangler - 6" lift 33's - sand color
1999 Jeep Wrangler - 4" lift 33's - yellow
1998 Dodge Ram - 7" lift 35's - black
1992 Toyota 4X4 - 3" lift 31's - red w/ black quarter panels
1989 Ford Bronco - 4" lift 33's - red w/ khaki top
and my 2002 Dakota SXT 4X4, definetly the small one in the group, but willing to try anything.
Maybe i'll see you around.

Message: I don't have skid plates of any kind on my Dakota, so if yours work out, i'd be much appreciative of the specs on making them and where you had it done and how much they cost...i definitely need them for the undercarriage between the wheels and the front suspension/axle, i beat the hell out of them all the time and i'm seriously getting worried about ruining something.
Thanks a lot!

Message: Arthur,
I had McCarthy Tank and Steel Fabricate the plates for me. They cost $128. I used plans I got from Fourxfore, which several posts all said fit right on. They did not fit on my truck. I am not sure if this is a QuadCab thing or what. I will send a post to Fxf and try to figureit out. Luckily, McCarthys can modify my plates so they will fit.
Send me an e-mail ccandjb@aol.com and I will send you pdf files of the design I got from Fourxfore, and a modified design which fits on my Quadcab.

Message: DakinSLO,
Sorry to hear you had to adjust the fit. Since Mopar only offer the same plates for all vehicles Club, Quad, Durango, I would think they would not have any problems fitting no matter what type of wehicle you put them on. The Mopar plates have no room for adjusting the fit, like elongated mounting holes, so maybe the cutter got them wrong. Anyway glad it was a minor adjustment and great price. What kind of material did you use?
FXF
PS I think the metal plate mopar has, Part Number 82223839 will work for the longer tank. For $85.00 might be worth a try. You may just need to have a extension pc of metal added but the tank is tucked up pretty good to where this may work ok.
Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!! FourXFour's Web site

Message: Thanks Fourxfore for all your help in this.
I'll check out part number 82223839 next week. The plates I had made are 1/4 inch steel plate. I think it was a good price too. I just got a call that the mods are done, so It looks like I will be ready for my trip tommorrow.
