Subject: Intake port and polish IP: Logged
Message: Howdy all. I have just finished porting/polish my manifold. I cut back the plenum divider by 2", cut back my runners by .75" as well as milled the runners at 90 degrees to the manifold opening(where it bolts up to the headers), and finally bored out the throttle openings to 1.980" (just under the 50mm V8 TB opening). I am in the process of taking pictures so I can post them. My question is how much should I fill in with aluminum/belzona and where is the best area to do this. I have a rough idea, but I wanted to know if anyone had done this before. I would have posted this on the open forum, but it is troll utopia out there. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the double post.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: He are the pics, Keep in mind that this is an EGR manifold and my 97 of course is not, I just have to block off the hole. Tell me what you think.

Message: The blast job also helped with hiding the rough areas too:) The radiuses were all done with a pneumatic grinder with a burr and a sand paper flapper wheel...can you say pain in the @ss!!
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: I know nothing of performance mods on the Magnums (I'm a 4.7 guy...) but 1.980" is 50.29mm...
Did you mis-type and mean a little over the 50mm TB or am I not reading something right. 50mm=1.969" 1mm = .03937"
Sorry for being anal retentive...
Was the work done on a machine tool of some sort or all by hand? I thought I read somewhere you are a machinist or have access to a machine shop. Only wondering because I am a CNC machinist by trade.

Message: Yeah, if you go to the members only board, I made the correction there. It was actually 1.960", my fingers got carried away:) The work was done by a vertical turret lathe, a old @ss mill, and a pneumatic grinder with burr bit(for the radiusing) I am an electrician not a machinist, but I was raised around machines(my dad and grandfather own a machine shop in Pa)and I currectly (in military) work in an area that I have access to the necessary machines.
