You know that hose that goes from the air cleaner to your valve cover. It eliminates that and replaces the black filter on the engine now with a open one. If it is the one that I am thinking about. Helps clean up the engine bay a little. You may want it since you have the new hose kit Lesley.

I was thinking that very thing CW. Canadian Tire now carries K&N, but I can't find those little ones. I'll have to order them in. They are cute little büggers.

Lesley,

The filters are on $16 US here. How much are they in Canada?

All,

I purchased one, and I must say, the engine looks "nifty" hehe. Also, there seems to be a louder sucking noise coming from the engine compartment after I installed. I guess that's normal, right?

I don't know. The big ones are a lot more here - that 9" cone is about $95, on sale before Christmas for $75.
CW - I guess I would plug the outlet on the hat, right? Would you guys know the part number for them? I ordered a cone from Canadian Tire before they had them in stock - they tried to give me the flat one for the stock air box, then argued with me when I wouldn't take it. I would like to eliminate that by just ordering by number.

I would have to know the hole size in your valve cover. They don't have a application guide. Yes you would have to plug the hole in the air hat or unfiltered air will get into the engine. Here is a link: crankcase filters
Measure the hole size in your valve cover and order filter appicable.

the only problem with mine is that I had to cut the baffles on the valve covers for my rrs and the bottom of the filter gets a little oily.

Crappy Tire doesn't have the K&N crankcase filters, but it does have some made by APC. I bought one today, and sealed up the extra hole in the TB hat with a rubber grommet. It'll do til I get a K&N filter. :}

Hey, I can get you one here and send it to ya...I know you are in canada, but we can split the shipping if you want. Also, You might have to go to the auto parts store and buy and extra hose to make it fit just right. I had to...

Hey, thanks, that is really kind of you. I'm taking a trip to Texas next month to visit a friend, and we plan to visit some performance shops. He got one for his truck, so I hope to pick one up then.
The one I got fit perfectly! It was only $16 Can, so that is about $10-$11 your money.

Hey CW - did you leave your PCV filter on as I did, or just put the filter directly on your valve cover. I was told that our emissions laws insist on the PCV filter, that is kind of redundant isn't it, filtering a filter?

I didn't do mine yet, it is quite a different set up though. They want a PCV filter I'm sure but the K&N replaces it It filters just as well. If you could find the right size adapter you could put it right on the valve cover. Get rid of the factory one. It would clean it up a little. Very redundant though.
