I have a really stiff suspension. I have gotten use to it but when somebody gets in they always make a comment about it. When I load the bed with concrete it smoothes right out.

Question is, if I take out one leaf spring will it make it smoother or bouncy? Or should I just finish the Hotchkiss suspension group with their rear springs?

I have a 2/3 drop and Hotchkiss front/rear sway bars and front springs with a "slid-a-link" setup.

Eyetrip, I have not tried this on a Dak, but on F-150s and Jeeps. Removing one of the SHORT leafs usually dropped the truck 1/2", and softened the ride a bit.

Alternatively (again, not that I've personally tried this), you could experiment with teflon strips between the leafs. It helped out on one Jeep in which the owner installed a set of Rancho springs, and found that it was "hopping" from one expansion strip to another, due to the springs being a bit radical for highway driving.

EyeTrip, your truck's stiffness is probably close to mine. Here's what ya do:

*get in truck*
*passenger gets in truck*
*drive*
Passenger: "It's stiff in here, this sucks."
*unbuckle passenger seatbelt* (skip if they do not wear a seatbelt)
*lean over and open their door*
*proceed to push them out the door yelling tuck and roll*
OPTIONAL: *proceed to push them out the door yelling tuck and roll you son of a b1tch, how's the ride now?*

Simple, but yet affective.
