Subject: What computer should I Use IP: Logged
Message: I am swapping my 1995 3.9L with a 1999 Durango 5.2L. I have decided to use the trans out of the dakota. however I believe the trans is hydraulic compared to the electronic 44RE in the '99 Durango. Now I need a V8 computer to control this thing any suggestions?
I was thinking a 1995 Dakota V8 computer is the way to go. Let me know
thanks

Message: Yes that is the computer you will need from a 95 dakota with the v8, Your transmission is hydraulic. The mopar performance computer is awsome on these engines it really makes it rev fast. all you will have to do is add the two wires for the 7 and 8 injectors really easy to do. The transmission will bolt up I belive your torque converter will bolt up I belive they did change the flexplate and converter mounting but im not sure. you will need to find a doner intake and exhaust manifold for your egr or just eliminate it! I just swapped my v6 for a 318 and it really made the truck fun!
