Message: I've thought about getting a tonneau cover, it isn't really something that I would want to order off ebay :), so I think I will research and buy it as locally as possible. What do you guys have and/or recommend?

Message: The one that I really want is a rolltop cover. That way I can still haul things in the back, like my dirt bike.

Message: Is that a hard cover? That link you posted CW, those are really nice, but I'm thinking a nice light fibreglass is what I want. Dunno, I'm going to look for a long time before I make up my mind so I'm not disappointed, as they are pretty expensive.

Message: Lesley, here's my earlier critique of the Advance folding tonneau cover:
I have the Advance folding tonneau, and I love it.
It's in four sections. The rear 1/4 flips forward, the front 1/4 flips back (both lockable), the rear and middle sections fold onto the front (built-in straps keep them in place), or the whole unit is removed quickly and easily BY ONE PERSON.
It's made out of black anodized aluminum, very light weight, but probably not 100% water-proof.
This is the best and most versatile cover out there.... very usable. I paid $490.00.
Worth some consideration!

Message: That does sound good. I thought that all of those were some sort of vinyl, I'll have to check that out. I really like the look of the gleaming colour-matched fibreglass ones too, but I realize they probably command a hefty price.

Message: I have the Lund Elite snapless vinyl cover. It stays tight and with no snaps to mess with (it has velcro down the sides, you can adjust the tension on it to make it fit perfect. It easily rolls up and has straps to keep it rolled up so you can haul stuff. It comes with a five year warranty and is only $245 from Summit Racing.

Message: I just got back from looking at tonneaus on my lunch. It's going to be the A.R.E. for me, it has exactly what I was looking for. As you said 2tonedakota, the lines match the hood. The lock can be turned with the palm. It is sleek looking, no drilling, and the air shocks make it easily raised & lowered. I'll have to start saving: up here they are over $1100.

Message: over $1100.00? wow. I paid $700.00 for a century (which no one on this forum seems to like) The only thing it doesn't have is the line to match the hood. It is clamped on and has shocks and can be operated with one hand. See if Ebay has one. You could get an A.R.E. for less than $850.00 In MI and probably cheaper elsewhere. Maybe you could buy one when you visit the USA again? Go to Indiana that is where a lot of the covers are made.

Message: That does sound good... but $850 US is over $1300 Canadian! I don't want to buy anything like that off ebay because the shipping would be insane. I think I will check out some prices in Toronto.

Find you a dealer near the border, order it go down on a weekend pop it on drive back!
My company bought a DCU Series for my work truck only took them 2 weeks to custom build it. I was just talking to the dealer the other day they said most of their products are ready in about 2 weeks.
I have nothing to Declare :) :)

I got a quote on the A.R.E. $1075 painted.
For anyone who is interested, there is a Gaylord (considered to be the best by many) tonneau on ebay, it's only at $499 US. It's in the states somewhere (I think N.Y.) Good deal.
