Subject: Gear question IP: Logged
Message: I had always thought I had the 3.55 rear end in my truck, just like I had in my 92 dakota, but I looked in the glove compartment and it showed that I have a 3.2 rear end. I didn't even know Dodge put that in the Daks!! I was wondering how hard and how much (money) it would be to swap out the gears myself to a 3.55 or even the 3.92. My truck hauls ass now, I can't imagine how quick it would be with a different gear ratio! Thanks in advance for the help!
Drive it like you stole it! 97 Dakota CC 3.9L 5 speed

Message: Best way to find out is to price around at some shops. It is best left to professionals. From what I have heard 400 US is the norm. Go with the 3.92 you will love them.
