Subject: PCM for an Engine Swap
IP: Logged

Message:
I am swapping a 5.2 into my 3.9 '95 Dak. I am thinking of converting the truck to a manual transmission. If i do this, will the ECM/PCM i purchased from a '95 Ram work??? Or will I need the computer out of a manual truck?

You will need the PCM from a truck (Dakota or Ram) of the same year for certain. You will also need a PCM from manual tranny truck, otherwise the engine won't run properly. Usually, it will have an RPM ceiling around 3000. There is also the possibility of having it flashed for a manual application.

What's your left foot doing?
