 Subject: hey yall got a question about tonneaus

i got a checkmate fx fiberglass lid and i just got it installed today i only got the center lock but i was wondering....while driving down the road should that be locked so it doesnt fly up???or will it stay closed even if it is unlocked the only thing holding it is the shocks and hinges...just curious until an answer i am just gonna keep her locked down. thanks

Call the manufacturer. My guess is it needs to be latched, but not locked. I have a Lund and I can drive it with it unlocked. Also, my physics lessons say the down force while driving will keep it down.

Well, if you were driving in reverse it should come up. It would be the same concept of when you drive forward and your hood comes up.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.
