Subject: R/T towing IP: Logged
Message: I have an 02 cc R/T and just bought a boat. With the trailer the boat is about 2500lbs and I think the R/T towing capacity is only 1800lbs. I was told I should get air bags for the rear to increase my towing capacity. The guy at my local shop told me the airbags would be overkill and I should just get helper springs. Could you guys help me out and tell me which is better for me to get. Thanks guys.

Message: self leveling bags are good we have them on our tow vehicle and they work great... and you can adjust them for the track....hoping you bought the truck for that...

Message: Airbags might be overkill, but better safe than sorry. WOudl you rather bottom out on your frame with the helper springs, or get air bags and know you are safe?? Also, as Doc said, you coudl adjust them for different dricing situation and track use to make themost out of your truck.
