Take a look at this picture and tell me if this OK for the bag to sit like this. Keep in mind that the bumpstop that is there is gone, because I cut it off after I took the pic.
Thanks

If it is, I'll just weld the rest of the kit on, and finish her up.

Message: Yeah, would that be inflated or no? You really don't want the bag touching or rubbing anything to cause it to eat into the rubber. Is that lip rubbing it? It won't take long to go through it. I can't tell from the picture but make sure it doesn't. Also make sure your bottom mounts aren't going anywhere. Bolt and weld them suckers in there. Also make sure you got clearance aired all the way up and down. I'm working on my rear right now so I haven't tore the front apart yet to get to the rubbing issues. Lemme know how much lift you get out of them.

Message: FBI? I got them from AIM.
This is how the kit is supposed to bolt on as far as I can tell. They are not inflated. The lines aren't even all hooked up yet. I just got done mounting them and it seemed weird, so I wanted some input.
Thanks

Message: Also it looks like it would place unwanted stress at the seams the way that are in there but I have seen them done like that before on many rides but didn't ask the people how much life they got out of their bags. I don't see a way to mess the top mount up so if your sure you got the bottom in there right then go ahead and air them up and sit some weight on them. Just make sure they are clear of everything before the suspension settles. Maybe have one person look under the truck and watch as you air the bag up with a compressor. Sorry I haven't gotten as far yet.

Message: No Problem Jeremy. Thanks for the info, I just didn't want to blow a bag. I still have to get some fittings. I mounted the Shock relocaters also tonight, I'll post a pic on my site in a few minutes, check it out. I won't lose any turning the way I did it. I hope anyway. Give me five minutes and I'll have it up.
Cheers

Check it out. Not to bad, and it won't hit the tierod either. Tire shouldn't hit it as well.
let me know what you think.

Message: LOL...sorry UFDakota!
The bumpstop is already off, I took that pic before I cut it off. The thing I'm most proud of is the shock relocation. I hope it works well.
I will be finishing it all up tommorrow and drop her down and pump her up! Can't wait too see her lift. (she had better lift!)
I'm gonna put some grease on any part of the bag that is even close to rubbing (just for good luck)
I'll let you'all know how it goes.
I have pictures of the entire install on my webpage.

Message: Those are the kind that AIM sent to me with the relocater kit. I think Chassis tech make them. Theres no sticker on them, but they all look the same anyway. I have an extra set of Belltech Nitro-drops, just in case they don't hold up, but I think they will. If you do mount them like that, make sure your weld is tight as hell, because there is a ton of stress on them this way. I put good bushings on them because they need to flex a tiny bit.

Message: Ok, well I sealed it all up today and put 80lbs in them and they worked great. It's still on jack-stand now, as I will test drive her tommorrow. I still want to clean her up a bit more. No leaks, no pressure points, nothin.
Hopefully the shock will hold up where I mounted them. Hopefully It lift well also. I only have 150psi in my tank here.
Wish me luck!

Message: Well, I couldn't wait till tommorrow, so I slapped the wheels back on. I put 60lbs in, and lowered it off the jack. It took 110psi to lift if 1" above stock level, and it almost will lay on the ground, but I won't do that much cuz it looks like the bag is crimping when I do it. Maybe I'm just paranoid. But anyway, even with 1/4" line this thing lifts quick! Since I put the shock relocaters on, I think it reduced how much lift I can get, but I'm happy with what I have. There are pics on my site. Jeremy, I think you'll find that it's not that hard to install the front bags, but you'll have to remove the top and bottom bumpstops. The cup doesn't need to be trimmed at all (atleast with 2500's it doesn't). Make sure the upper cup mounts are snuggly mounted also, that was the only thing that got me.

Message: You got me so anxious now. I've been waiting for access to a welder for days now. The suspense is about to kill me. I hope mine ain't going to be too bouncy without the front shocks. I just wish my kota wan't my only ride right now so I wouldn't have to worry about having her all back together at night so I can travel to work in the morning. I have two other vehicles but they aren't running. You did a sweet job. I hope I don't run into any unexpected problems. I can't wait till I get my compressor, tank, and electric valves. I'm leaning towards a vlair right now. I hope my 318 lifts as easy. That thing weighs a ton.

Message: Well, I noticed I had a bag leaking today. The drivers side bag is leaking. Not sure if it's the fitting or the actuall bag, gonna check it out tonight. If the bag is defective, I'm gonna be a little angry, and AIM had better honor there return policy that they told me they would do. Another question...The bags should be hooked up seperately right? They shouldn't be sharing the same line, right?
thanks

Message: I'm guessing it's the fittings. Bags usually don't just leak, they blow! Just get some soapy water on em! about sharing lines: Depending on how many tanks, or how many ports thee tank has, most people run 1 line from a port of the tank that splits (T-fitting) to go to both front bags. then 1 more that splits to goto both in back. It takes less line than running them individually, but there's more fittings. When i do mine, i'm doin it "direct-ported". It's prolly A LITTLE quicker filling, and when u got a leak, u know which line it is. But like i said, it all depends on how many ports you have.

You guys think Scuba-Tanks are old-school? I can get a great deal on one with a regulator...

Message: No Problem Mike, I like to keep everyone up to date. I had a friend who used a Scuba tank for a couple weeks without having to refill. It cost him 30 dollars to fill it when it finally ran out of pressure. My bags don't take much to fill. Only 100-110 psi is needed to lift the truck WAY up. I need to get a dual guage to figure out exactly what PSI i'm running and when.
Anymore opinions on a scuba tank?

Message: Those scuba tanks are usually filled with nitrogen. and that's really meant for SERIOUS setups for hopping in competition. I dont know how low the regulator could be set, but nitrogen's high pressure: you'd be alot more likely to blow a bag(or line or fitting). just a normal air tank(s) with some good compressors should be good enough; especially for just the front. I just think you'd prolly have to beef up the rest of the system if u go scuba driving (PUN INTENDED. <insert laugh here>)

Message: On the idea of T-fittings, they make your truck handle really bad cause the bags share the air and it all goes to one side during hard cornering. I just bagged my rear and it was a pain in the rear. It took forever to do the step notches. Weld, grind, weld, grind, weld, grind. Finally got them in and when I went to do the mounts the vent for the axle is all in the way. Had to weld it up and tap another hole away from the middle of axle shaft. I used brass fitting and they seal good. Also use plenty of teflon tape. I also had to drop the gas tank, trying to decide what to do with it, build a iron shield under it or get a fuel cell for the bed which I'm really biased against. I also had to cut AIM's brackets up cause if you don't you won't never get them to line up with the mount across the top of the step notch. Well its laying hellacious frame in the rear but it took all weekend long. I hope the front will go faster. I think they will cause there shouldn't be as much to weld. I think I welded for like 5 hours last night. Oh yeah, you might want to think about relocating the rear shocks too, cause with the mount being on the axle and not the u-bolt plate, it puts them at a odd angle with your frame barely off the ground. They are almost horizontal. I notched my shock crossmember to allow them room to operate. They don't rub now but I don't know how well they will dampen.

Message: I got rid Of those fittings. It felt like I was gonna flip the truck at every corner. My sterring seems a bit weird now that I have bagged the front. I think she may need a good alignment. I'm gonna bag the back next week. Jeremy, do you have dropped spindles or control arms in the front? If you don't, you gonna find it hard to lay frame without crimping your bags. I'm buying a set of spindles from a guy on here and getting control arms also. I want to take as much stress off these bags as possible. If you got picks of the back, I'd like to see them. How did you brace the rear end while installing the step notches? do you tires hit the fender wells in the back?
As far as an engine driven compressor goes, I would love to have one. Those things rock.

I tacked the stepnotches in and then ran a good bead around them and then cut the frame out and continued to weld the new notch up. Tell me something, does your front wheels camber in a bunch with the bag pancaked.
