hey guys,

i talked to my dealer about lowering and they told me that if i do it, it will void my warranty. is this true? or is it a bunch of BS??

most likely they will just void the suspension warrenty, i dont think they can void any other warrenty (like powertrain) for you voiding the suspension warrenty, someone correct me if im wrong, hope this helps

by law they cant void anything you do, they have to prove what you did caused a defect in the truck , if they cant prove , then they cant void your warrenty, trust me they tried that to me.

02 rc mell. graphite, 5 spd, 355/posi, intake, relocated iat, 3rd cat removed, ran best of 14.76 at 92 mph, on stock tires, oh yeaa i justed dropped it 3/5 with custom air shocks in the back

i have been reading about the ball joints goin really early on the 2001 + dakotas. so lets say i lower it and they go. they will most likely say it was due to the lowering. how do they prove it was cuased by the lowering?

It all depends on the dealership, get a good dealership, and u'll have no problems. I've done so much to my truck and the dealership never questions it. it's great. After the last R/T meet, i showed the service guy one of the pics of my burnout contest. Then told the guy that the truck needs new brakes,not shifting right, and that the stearing column was making a sound. Got my truck back and paid 21.00 for my oil change, they took care of the rest.
