Subject: Will 18's or 20's work best on 3/5 drop? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 Ext. Cab with a 3/5 drop and i was wondering if it is possible to get 20's on it without rubbing? Or would 18's work? I want to have a pretty tall tire as well... Im not sure what numbers but i like a lot of black still. So if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it. Does anyone know of any good places to check out pics of Daks with 18's or 20's? And does anyone have any suggestions on what backspacing and tire size i should go with? thanks.

Message: 35 or 45 series tire is your best bet with 20's
and a 3/5 drop, depending on the offset of the
wheel
with 18's, depending on the offset, you can run
a 255/45/18 and pretty much keep the same
DIA as your stock wheel/tire combo
2001 4.7 CC shaved dropped slow...for now : )

Message: thanks for the info...but what number offset should i be looking for...i dont want the tires to stick out too far from the car and i dont want them burried in either...id like the tires to be pretty much even with side of the car...would width of the tire have much to do with that or the offset? And also...anyone who has 20's on their ride...id like to hear of the setup you guys have. Peace.

Message: i've had both 18's and 20's and i'm workin with the same drop. on the 18's i ran a 255-55-18 perelli and loved it. then went to a 20 with a 285-45-20 and had a little bit of a rubbing problem. if u go with the twenty's do a 40 series.
the only other thing u may have to do is get a little bigger bumpstops and u'll have no problems either way. hit me up for some pics. good luck

Message: Hey...so if you were me...what would you go with...the 20's!!?? with a 40 series tire, do you have to drive like super careful or what? i dont want to have to go like 2 mph over every bumb you know. What is a good offset and width to get too? Go ahead and email me some pics too...that would be awesome.
