Subject: What shocks should i use? IP: Logged
Message: I am installing my Hotchkis lowering kit (Front 2 inch drop coils, rear 3 inch drop leafs) I am wondering what shocks i need to use. I called Hotchis and they said the stock size would work but they didn't recommend it. I am looking at the KYB gas adjustables (38.99 each from advanced auto parts) but i don't know which part number to use for a lowerd dak. Can anybody help? If you are using something else besides KYB's what type are you using and what part number are they? I have a 99 club cab with the 3.9 in it.

Message: The small amount you are lowering will allow you to use stock shocks. My 98 is not lowered yet, but for shocks I purchased Edelbrock IAS performance shocks from WWW.shockwearhouse.com. Their website will give you costs and parts numbers for lots of differant brands, KYB included. The Edelbrocks made a HUGE differance over the stock shocks, but they cost about $70 each. I've used KYB's in the past on old chevy muscle cars and I've always been happy with them. Bottom line go check out the shockwearhouse site.
