Message: I'm fixing to get a 4/5 drop... I have 2" AIM lowering blocks in the back, and nothing else at the moment. I'm gonna save up and get Hotchkis 3" sport leafs, put the blocks on em, and get the RoadMaster active suspension kit. I should have a 5" drop when I do that. For the front, I'm just gonna use 3" a-arms and 1" or 2" coils. For just a 3" front drop, it should only take some 2" a-arms and a 1" coil.
I'm really not sure, I'm not too familiar with dropping yet.

Message: thats a sweet truck,i see you got it shaved, think i've talked to you befor on here, you said it was higher in the back so you put 1 inch blocks and c-notch,and ploblem solved, correct me if i'm wrong.Does it ride well?and does the front tires rub.

Message: all I used in the front were the 3" control arms
and toxic shocks. the truck rides the same as
stock but with a slightly stiffer than stock
shock. very cushy ride. I got back from
snowboarding last weekend, and believe me,
its definately not a canyon carver, but
sacrificing handling for a smoother ride is fine
by me.
my front tires will rub maybe once every 3 or 4
months. I have to be driving fast (80+) and be
on the freeway, and hit one of those long
sinking dips, and when they rub, they only hit
the plastic part on the inner fender, not the
actual meta part, or lip of the fender.
remember, I have the 15" wheel/tire combo,
so the 16" will probably be a different story.
I have no c-notch in the rear, I removed the
bump stops and never got around to having
the frame cut. there is plenty of clearance,
and rarely does the rearend bottom out on the
frame. you will have to dump the exhaust
before the axle if you get a 6" drop in the rear,
there isnt enough room to run it up and over
the axle without running into problems
(rattling, etc)

Message: fenris - you said you had the AIM blocks... they are extruded aluminum, not cast, correct? are you having any problems with them? how long have you had them on? did you have any problems with the company itself??
sorry for all the q's, thanx though!

Message: kotart13...my brother used AIM blocks in his
Tacoma S-runner. they cracked when he was
at the starting line at the track. make sure you
buy quality blocks. Try DJM or western
chassis blocks.

Message: what would be better to get the 3 inch front drop the 3 inch arms because i heard you lose alot of turning radius,or should i get the 3 inch springs and would the tires lean in much?

| RE: HELP PLEASE!!! IP: Logged
Message: get 2" arms and a 1" spring. you should be
able to adjust the camber easily, but the
turning radius would increase. with 3" arms
your turning radius becomes huge. 3"
springs would work also, and you wouldnt
gain any turning radius and you can fully align
the truck.

| RE: HELP PLEASE!!! IP: Logged
Message: I dont think the shackle/hanger is adjustable.
you might want to call DJM or go to
DJMsuspension.com and check. you can get
a 2" leaf from hotchkis and use a 2" block...if
you dont like that, use a 3" block. running a 4"
isnt the best way to go, but it will work.

Message: Thanx D,that really helps,i don't know much about lowering and i don't want to do anything wrong,i have someone doing it for me and all he said is that would be the cheapest way to go,but somethings i guess cheaper isn't always better.
