Subject: 3/5 DJM or Western Chassis? IP: Logged
Message: Ok, I know its been discussed before, but I would like to know the most recent opinion of you dak owners out there.
I have a 98 Dak Sport and want to go 3/5 on it. I've heard that DJM doesn't actually give you a full 3 inches and the camber isn't adjustable?? (correct me if I'm wrong.)
Is this a fairly simple install? I know I will run into trouble with the gas tank when I go to lower the back, but is there any other things that I should be aware of?
Finally I need to find a good price on the drop. There is only one place i know of that sells the WC kit (sporttruck.com or something like that) any others are gladly welcomed to the list.
Thanks for all your help

Message: Check out AIM Industries too; I haven't heard much about em, but they seem like they make good stuff. They make all the lowering stuff you'd need; shackles, hangers, a-arms, spindles, air bags, blocks... Also their prices are pretty good.

I ordered some 2" lowering blocks from them, they're aluminum, BUT, they're not cast-aluminum. They're extruded and heat-treated and they claim that they can hold up under 50 tons. Since it's in writing, I went ahead and got em. If they break, I'm suing!

Message: AIM or DJM...no brainer, AIM is sh!te, and the
people that work there are idiots. DJM and
western chassis are pretty much equal. if you
use 3" arms, you cant adjust the camber, if
you use 3" springs, some people havent been
gettting a full 3" drop. my recomendation is to
go with a 2" arm and 1" spring, that way you
can adjust the caster/camber and I believe
you can use a hotchkis spring with the DJM
arm, so you'll get great handling too.
2001 4.7 CC shaved dropped slow...for now : )
