The back spacing is 5.5"

and the tires i have choosin are the Goodyear GTII 275/45/20.
will i have any problems with rubbing etc? if so whats the lowest i can go without any probs.

Message: i dont think you'll be able to go that low unless you cut out the wheel well. i have 275/45/20 tires and i havent lowered it yet but i will. it looks like the lowest you could go is Maybe 2 up front and 4 in the back

Message: blakdak
Next week I'm having a 2" Western Chassis shackle installed to see if it "levels" my QC.
I'm thinking a 2" rear drop will put the rear a little lower than the front. If it does, I will have R/T springs installed in the front for a 1" drop.
I'll let you know how it works out (we have the same size tires).

Message: AR20's - If you have a 3/5 drop you would be able to run those wheels with a 35 series tire. I would suggest 255/35 in front and 265/35 in rear. That setup will work as far as rubbing is concerned. I've got a westernchasis 3/5 with AR maxims (not on yet, waiting for tires) but I have been told with the 35 series tires it would have no rubbing problems.. But just in case ask Kotaon20's.

Message: AR20s I think the math doesn't add up on the specs you typed in. If the rims are 8.5" wide, zero offset would have 4.25" backspacing. If you have +19 mm (0.75") offset then you would have 4.25 = 0.75 = 5" backspacing. Better make sure of the the backspacing. That's not enough backspacing, they will stick out a bit.

Message: Mark im just going by what the dealer told me. But ill look in to it more. looks like 255-35-20 are the only way to go with a 3/5 drop. I guess you dont really need them to tuck inless your going to bag it though. is this true?
thanks

Message: I run 245/45ZR20 on my ARE Maxim wheels. First when I had a 4-6 drop with only a little bit of rub on rollers in the road. Now my dakota is laid out on bags with the same wheels & tires. The 275/45/20 GTII are great tire but not for a dakota, they are 29.76 O.D Factory 16's are 28.07 O.D. For more info on the dakota build check out www.darksydecustoms.com

Message: I put 20's on my truck with the harley davidson tires (not low profile). I had to drop the back two inches to even it out so your should work. I only have a 1 inch space in my wheel well.
