Its illegal up here in B.C. Canada to have shaved door handles too. It makes it hard for emergency crews to open your door if you get in an accident and your door gets stuck.

In NY, it's supossedly illegal if the center of your headlights are below a certain measurement. I think it's 20 Inches or so. I'm definatley illegal if thats true. The Cops up here are very picky. When I had my 98 Civic on the road, I used to get pulled over 3-4 times a week. I ended up losing my liscence after I got over 40 non-moving violations. ie: Loud exhaust, Stickers on windsheild, too low, no front plate, clear tails, etc, etc.
Ended up getting a dakota (very flashy) and haven't gotten pulled over yet. I think the cops just target certain groups of individuals (kids) and bust there balls just to display their power. Now that I'm 24 and not driving around a *kids* style car, they leave me alone. I know most of the officers around here now anyway, most of them have pulled me over atleast once.

There's a lot of ricers around my town.
I always see cops pulling over people, but funny enough, it's NEVER the kids and their ricers. Don't get me wrong, I like some ricers. There's some nice ones around here, actually, especially this yellow Prelude with a bodykit and muffler. I've never seen the car close up, so I don't know if there's engine work as well, or just an appearance kit. The thing I really like about that one, it's not covered in decals like most ricers.
Anyway, back on topic, it's always the family cars, vans, and SUV's that get pulled over. I think the kids in this town are smart and know how to avoid the cops...

illegal stuff....hmmm......if a cop wanted i would be impounded...lets see. shaved doorhandles, air ride suspension, 3.5 inch body drop.. right their messes me up...lol. oh yeah, shaved antenna....and the rest is all getting shaved and molded soon with led lights out back. no lisence plate lights and it in my back window, no front plate. clear front corner lights with blue bulbs.. engine sticks out of hood....well.... maybe i should drive anymore...lol. but i dont have no problems

LOL...have you guys seen the rediculous exhaust tip the AEM makes for the back of your vehicle? You know, the one that lights up when it senses Exhaust comeing out? Seems like every kid around here has one...even the there old beat up hyundia's and escorts. Those damn washer fluid sprayer lights are ugly too.

If a cop wants to he can give you a ticket for anything. And in california if you have a part that is even near a smog part and doesn't have a carb e.o. # they can impound your vehicle.Any tint on the front windows even uv tint that is clear/impound. Clear corners on the rear and no reflection that is red/impounded. Although the cops don't really impound for this stuff if you really piss one off they can and will find something and nail your butt to the wall. So don't run and don't piss them off and you probably will just get a warning. Unless they are looking to fill out their quota lol...

i almost got a damn ticket from my blue underbody lights, my clear corners (they contain no amber orange outside but have orange signals), and my straight pipes. its bullsh*t!!

what are the laws on lighting for your truck? like neon underglow lights and headlights. Because i have a 2002 chev. s-10 black and im getting neon blue under glow and mods to the head lights and suspention put in.

well they say any aftermarket light that did not come stock on the vehicle is illegal...which is B.S. but i dont know where u are from but in ark ususally u will get pulled over for any blue light...i have green underbody and i get pulled over everynow and then....but never gotten a ticket....
btw...what are u doing on a dakota forum if u have an s10???????

The cops don't really mess with you around Charleston (in West Virginia). If you're racing and get cought, then you're gonna get 6 points for reckless endangerment and then they'll really look your car over for any reason to impound it or write more tickets. As for lighting, strobes and underbody lights are permitted to be on all vehicles, but they can only be turned on when the car is not moving and cannot be red or blue in color. The really small town cops around here are best avoided though, as they will impound a car in a heartbeat. If they don't find something, they'll make something and then their dash cam tape will "disappear". Corrupt punks...

Yeah in Arkansas you get pulled over fast for neon kits. I have a set of blue Street Glow neons on my Durango and can't have them on unless I'm in a parking lot or at a truck show. As soon as you pull on to the road they have to be turned off. But, they look sweet even the cops tell me that! Later.

Here in Texas you can have the neon underbody kit but it can only be on if you're parked. Gay huh. Turn signals must be amber, I have blue...whoops. Headlights if they are blue you are getting pulled over. You can have limo tint on all windows but the drivers and winshield. It has to be 30%. Most kids out here have limo all the way around. I have a friend who has 20% on his front windshield. Radio is to loud or exhaust is to loud and "disturbs the peace" you are getting a ticket. Other than that most mods are ok, unless your car/trucks HP is way up there. Cops aren't too bad out here, they are used to all the custom cars and trucks in my town. they are lazy too, so why should they pull someone over when they can park under a tree and sleep? Quite a few hide out in alley's to waste time...haha Pigs

In VA you can get a ticket for havin a neon light outside or inside your truck. Iv got 2 tickets this month cause my truck is 3" over the legal height, 2 for loud exhaust, and 2 for illegaly tinted windows, plus some other small stuff. But around here u cant get away with having any major mods on ur truck without gettin a ticket or havin cops follow you around waitin for you to do sumptin so they have a better reason to pull you over.

If from VA too, and the cops are always looking for something. If they don't get you, the state inspection every year probably will. When my dad and I go for inspection, we have to unhook the airbags on his S-10 and put the stock springs and leafs back on, then put it all back together after inspection. It blows.
