Subject: 2" Shackle or Hanger?

Which would be the best way to lower the rear of a 2001 QC??

The DJM 2" shackle is about $40 cheaper than their 2" hanger.

Pros and cons?

Thanks

You must mean shakle hangers, not the
shakles themselves. You can't get lowering
shakles for Gen III Dakotas.

I used 2" drop shakle hangers for two reasons
instead of the front sping hangers:

1. The rivets were easier to get at after
lowering the spare tire. The front hangers
looked much harder to remove due to the QC
gas tank.

2. Using rear shakle mounts by themselves
will give you more pinion angle, which will
help decrese wheel hop and tire spin (even in
the winter).

I recommend using Western Chassis
hangers as they're made out of 1/4" material. I
was really impressed with the quality and fit.

Hope this helps,
Lemmers

I agree with Lemmers on the quality of Western shackle hangars. I used them on my 98 CC. It took about an hour and half to install but I had the bed off at the time. Bottom line....good product, good price.
