Subject: Right drop kit IP: Logged
Message: I am having the problem of the right drop kit on my '02 Dakota Sport SC. I heard the 2" lower Control arms and the 5" shackle & Hanger sits level. Then I hear the 3" lower Control arms and the 5" shackle & Hanger is level. I need to know what is right before I do this job. =)

Message: Not all the truck sit exactly the same from the factory. Measure yours, then you will know. With the truck sitting on a level surface measure the distance from the ground to the fenderwell with a straight line passing vertically through the axle line at all four wheels.

Message: Well I measured it and my rear is 1" higher in the back....If I get the 3" control arms and 5" shackle/hanger kit, can I adjust the shackles/hangers to 4" to make them sit level?

Message: I beleive the shackle hangers can be
adjusted, you should contact DJM to be sure.
the 3/5 is pretty safe to make your truck sit
level. if anything it might be a little higher in
the rear. from my experience anyway.

Message: i dont think u can adjust the shackle and hangers, if u want a 3/4 just buy the 3" front drop and then buy 4" blocks

Message: Best way would be to get new springs made for the drop. Others might argue bags. The cheapest would be taking a hack saw to the stock ones.

Message: justin it depends on how low u want to go.....cheapest will be coils and blocks
hacking stock coils is a cheap way to lower, but remember you get what u pay for.......and free stuff is always the worst

Message: i dont think i wanna hack at the stock ones...lol...but i was thinking about getting the 3" drop springs...but i still wanna have a good ride...then i thought about getting a-arms and springs...but that starts getting pricey...im almost pos. ill jus put the 4" blocks on the rear...but i heard rumors of getting a lot of bounce in the rear of the truck then....heh....im lost....
