Subject: The lower I go, The more she likes it!! IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys I have another suspension question and I was wondering if I can get some help. I've got 20's on the way with 255/35's. I have a western chasis 3/5 drop now, I was wondering what I can do to go lower. Do I have to get a whole new setup or can I just add some stuff. I'm not familiar with suspension stuff like this so any info will be appreciated. I wanna go as low as I can go and be safe which I think is a 4/6" drop. So what can I do to drop my truck 1 more inch all around, Or at least drop it as low as I can go.
Please give me any info you guys have.
Thanks alot
Mike

Message: In the front you can get a spring that is 1' lower...Western Chassis make 1,2 and 3" drop springs. In the rear, I wanted an extra inch and used 1" lowering blocks made for race vehicles and I had the W/C lowering kit!

Message: Hey glenn, do you think it will affect the trucks performance. And would I have any rubbing problems with the sidewalls of the tires on a 20x8.5 rim? Also will I have problems scraping the bottem of my truck? Thanks for your help..

Message: you won't scrape the bottom but your tires will rub every now and then.

tell me what parts you have now, and i will tell you what you need to add
TEAMFAST, why would he not be able to drive it? i have been driving my truck like this for 3 years with no problems. it looks good (IMO) parked in a parkinglot, or doing 115mph down the freeway (govern limited)

Message: Yeah my govern kicked in at 115 too. Doesnt that suck. Anyway as far as parts are concerned, it's hard to tell. I bought this truck a couple of months ago and was told I have a western chasis drop. ???? But I did some research and I think I have western chasis 2" drop arms (not sure) and in back I think I have 5" shackles and hangers (not sure).. So I guess I cant get much help. Maybe I can take some pictures and post it.. Thanks again for all your help.

Message: you cant tuck tires with a 3/5 drop, unless you
go with a taller than stock tire, and you will
probably rub. leave the tucking to the air bags.

Message: if you have the 2/3 hotchkis kit, i can see why it would be a rough ride. the western kit rides like stock. the only thing that will stiffen it up is the choice of tire you decide to go with. i drove to tucon AZ, and the streets there SUCK BALLS!!! i thought the hollywood freeway was bad!! but anyhoo, it was tolorable (sp?)
