Subject: Rubbing Question?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a western chasis 3/5" drop right now on my 2000 R/T CC. If I get 20x8.5" in front and 20x9" in the rear with 255/35/20 series tires, how much lower can I go without rubbing problems. I want my truck to be as low ast an go without having to bag it or without rubbing or scrapping. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks
Mike

I believe kota on 20's is running a 35 series
tire, and he is at 4/6 It also depends on the
offset of the wheel, with how wide a tire you
can run.

Hey D thanks. But does that mean 20x9's are too wide? Any help from anyone would be appreciated. I don't want to be getting these rims and regret it. Thanks

The rim is not your problem if you get the right offset.I think you need a 6.25 to tuck That is what mine are but I think you would need a skinnier tire to tuck than a 255. Kota on 20's will have better info since he has 20's

well i'm not really worrying about tucking now because the width of the rim is too wide anyway. I just wanna make sure my tires wont rub against the fender flares or the wheel well. Your right about the backspacing, but that applies to a 20x8" rim I believe, and mine are much wider then that. I'm just curious about the tires rubbing. Thanks though for your reply.

If you have the right backspacing you can run a 20x10 rim! You just cant have much tire sticking out on the sidewall or it will rub the fenderwell. Like I said I am not sure on what the exact width of tire should be but i thin 245 or smaller will work.

Oh ok. So I can run any width but just the backspacing has to be correct. Ok cool. I did not know that. I appreciate thanks
