i am looking to buy a 3/5 kit bt i wasnt to sure about some things. which gives u a better ride but sill looks good..3"springs with spindles or 3" springs with control arms and as for the back it looks like shackles and hangers are the only way to go besides blocks and im not gunna do blocks..thanks for any replys.

3" control arms keep the "stock" ride.

spindles are only made for pre 97 dakotas

shackles/hangers in the rear for the "stock"
ride.

only thing that makes it handle better is the
lower center of gravity, and stiffer/shorter
shocks.

shorter coil springs are stiffer, and make for a
slightly rougher ride, same with new leaf
springs. very good if you're lookin to carve
some s-turns, but, if you want to change the
look of the dakota w/o sacrificing ride/function,
then control arms and shackle hangers are
the way to go.

the kit i am looking at comes with control arms/shackles/hangers..i noticed it saysnothing about springs for the front..or do i not need lower springs b.c of the control arm.?thanks

you dont need lowering springs with the
control arms, you retain the stock springs and
stock ride, the springs are just seated lower, I
have pics of how low the 3" arms sit on my
webstie.
