Subject: 18 or 19 inch wheels IP: Logged
Message: i am considering a 4/6 drop this summer, and have my eyes set on boyd coddingtion stryker wheels. my question is what tire size would i run for this drop with either 18x8 or 19x8 wheels. i drive it daily, but mostly in town and dont want to rub at all, and want it to tuck with flares possbily. what kind of backspacing for both kinds of wheels. what are odds of bending 19 inch rims? thanx

Message: 245/40-18 on 18x8 won't tuck because they are too wide in the front but that doesn't matter unless you decide to bag it. On a 4/6 drop they won't rub. Same goes for 245/35-19. If you want it to tuck in the front you need to get 18x7 wheels in the front. You can tuck 19s or 20s in the back. They will only tuck if you bag it. On a 4/6 drop you should be fine. Or you could do a 3/6 drop on 20s with 245/35-20;)

Message: I have 19 inch Boyd Shadows on 245/45-19. I have a 3/6 drop and they sometimes rub in the front when I go fast over bumps or dips. I should have got 245/40-19. I have had the wheels on for 7 months and no problems. They would be pretty hard to bend. Remember to get good quality shocks.
